SRP CoC Taskforce – Overview & Call for Volunteers

The Sustainable Rice Platform (SRP) is forming a Chain of Custody (CoC) Taskforce to enhance our traceability framework and ensure it remains aligned with evolving market demands and regulatory requirements. We are inviting five (5) volunteer experts to join this short-term Taskforce and contribute their expertise toward shaping the future of SRP’s traceability and assurance systems. 

🎯 Purpose of the Taskforce 

The Chain of Custody (CoC) Taskforce will support the SRP Technical Committee in strengthening SRP’s traceability framework. Members will contribute to key revisions, platform assessments, and strategic alignment with emerging regulatory requirements. 

  1. Review the SRP Brand Manual & Claim Guidelines
  • Review and suggest revisions to ensure consistency with regulatory frameworks (e.g., EU Green Deal).
  1. Assess RiceTrace Platform
  • Discuss platform logic and workflows.
  1. Review of the SRP CoC Policy and Standard
  • Review and suggest revisions to the SRP CoC Policy and Standard
  1. Review dedicated page of SRP Traceability on the website
  • Ensure accuracy and credibility in relation to regulatory requirements (e.g., EU Green Deal).
  • Recommend improvements to SRP webpages and related communication on CoC.

👥 Who We’re Looking For 

We welcome volunteers with demonstrated expertise and track record in one or more of the following areas: 

  • Chain of Custody and traceability systems
  • Sustainability standards and certification
  • Digital traceability platforms
  • Regulatory frameworks (e.g., EU Green Deal)
  • Rice value chain operations and market dynamics

💡 You don’t need to be an expert in all areas — complementary expertise across members will strengthen the Taskforce. 

📌 Commitment 

  • Short-term, volunteer role (approx. 3–4 months)
  • About 2–3 hours per week for reviewing documents and providing suggestions at your own pace as long as it’s completed within the designated review period.
  • One virtual meeting per month (approx. 2 hours) to consolidate feedback and agree recommendations. SRP will send out a meeting poll in advance to find the best slot for all Taskforce members. Additional ad-hoc meetings may be scheduled if critical issues arise, based on agreement of Taskforce members.

📝 Nomination Process 

  • Eligibility: SRP Members who are not currently serving on the SRP Technical Committee or SRP Board may apply. Candidates may be nominated by others (with their consent) or may self-nominate.
  • What to submit:
  • Name, title, and organization
  • Brief statement (max. 1 page) outlining relevant experience and interest in contributing to the review process
  • Confirmation of availability to commit approximately 2–3 hours per week for document review, plus one 2-hour meeting per month from November 2025 to February 2026, with a kick-off meeting scheduled for late October.

Submission: Submit your nomination via email to assurance@sustainablerice.org by 26 September 2025 (COB, Bangkok time).

– Call for nominations: 5 – 26 September 2025 
– Taskforce confirmed: 10 October 2025 
– Kick-off meeting: end of October 2025 
– Work period: November 2025 – February 2026 

A preliminary timeline has been drafted to guide key activities from October 2025 to February 2026. In details, it will be discussed during the kick-off meeting.
