SRP launches its first-ever photo contest

SRP is delighted to announce the launch of its first photo contest and out of home advertisement campaign in the Netherlands.

About the photo contest

We are inviting SRP members and friends to submit their best rice field and/or rice farmer photo to show the world how we are transforming the global rice sector!

The winning photo(s) including credits will be displayed on 10+ outdoor screens in cities around the Netherlands throughout June and July 2023. The winning photo(s) will also be featured on SRP’s website, social media channels as well as blowUp media’s social media channels.

Out of home campaign in the Netherlands

We have partnered with blowUp media, specialists in  giant poster and digital out of home advertising, operating in Germany, Belgium, The Netherlands and the UK.

Our first campaign will be held in the Netherlands as a major importer of SRP-Verified sustainable rice. Renowned Dutch brands, retailers and importers have joined SRP in a shared quest to work together towards a healthy, inclusive and sustainable rice sector.

The main goal of this campaign is to create awareness among Dutch consumers and downstream actors on the benefits of sustainable rice.

How to participate?

Submit one (1) photo with the following specifications*:

  • Photos must be JPG/JPEG files with high-quality compression (minimum 200dpi).
  • Landscape-oriented images should have a maximum width of 2560 pixels and a maximum height of 1440 pixels; either dimension can be less than the maximum.
  • Portrait-oriented images should have a maximum height of 2560 pixels and a width less than 1440 pixels.
  • We encourage you to submit photos of farmers working in rice fields.

Please note: SRP members may submit multiple photos. Non-members can only submit one photo. In case of multiple submissions, only the first submission will be accepted.

*Photos must meet the guidelines (technical specifications and intellectual property rights) outlined in the campaign brief.


The submission deadline is 12:00 CEST on 26 May 2023.The campaign itself will run throughout June and July 2023.

Selection of Winners

All photos are subject to pre-screening to ensure compliance with the guidelines (technical specifications and intellectual property rights) outlined in the campaign brief [Link]. Non-compliant photos will be rejected.  

Judging Panel: Wyn Ellis (SRP Executive Director), Keith Jones (SRP Board Chair), Jop Blom (BEHOLD Sustainable Venture Group & Lead, SRP Brand Team), Roong Tepkaew (SRP Communications Manager).

Winner(s) will be contacted via the email address provided on submission and will be required to sign and return a statement of eligibility and liability/publicity release, provide a short bio (where applicable), and a brief statement about the submission. Winners and finalists may choose to use an alias instead of their real name and may request other identifying information be kept private. Inability to contact a potential winner may result in disqualification and/or selection of an alternate winner from among all remaining eligible submissions.
