What is an SRP National Chapter?
An SRP National Chapter is a country-level coalition formed of national-level rice industry stakeholders. SRP National Chapters represent SRP principles and drive the adoption of climate-smart, sustainable rice farming practices in a country.
What does an SRP National Chapter do?
Represent
Recognition as the designated official representative of SRP at national level
Localize
Localize SRP tools to implement them in the host country. This includes drafting the National Interpretation Guidelines to apply the SRP Standard at the country level.
Scale
Scale capacity and awareness of local stakeholders and rice industry actors on SRP and the SRP Standard. This includes the development of country-tailored training curricula on SRP tools.
Support
Supports implementation and monitoring of SRP activities in the local country.
Report
Reports national-level impacts of Registered SRP Projects against SRP Performance Indicators or other important metrics.
Communicate
Maintains communication with the SRP Secretariat to keep both sides updated.

How to set up an SRP National Chapter
STEP 01
Any interested organization must seek approval from the SRP Secretariat to establish an in-country National Working Group before you can set up an SRP National Chapter.
STEP 02
The initiating organization convenes a National Working Group.
STEP 03
The National Working Group selects an eligible organization to host the National Chapter.
STEP 04
The host organization appoints or hires a National Coordinator to facilitate organizational development.
