SRP Standard v3.0 Launch Rescheduled to January 2026 – Building Stronger Foundations for Sustainable Rice
The Sustainable Rice Platform (SRP) is committed to ensuring that every update to our Standard reflects both credibility and practicality for producers, auditors, and partners across the rice value chain. As we prepare to transition from version 2.2 to version 3.0, our priority is to make this more than just a technical update — it must be a smooth, efficient, and fully supported journey for all stakeholders.
After careful review, we have decided to reschedule the launch of the SRP Standard for Sustainable Rice Cultivation v3.0 to January 2026. This additional time will allow us to finalize the complete package, including all five annexes that accompany the new version. In previous updates, the Standard was supported by only one annex; this time, the expansion to five annexes provides richer standard tools, clearer guidance, and stronger foundations to support adoption.

This decision is not simply about timing — it is about ensuring that when v3.0 is launched, it is comprehensive, practical, and ready for use. By finalizing every annex, aligning with our Technical Committee, and developing a robust training plan, we ensure that producers, partners, and auditors have the resources they need to succeed. Members and partners can also be assured of a smooth transition, supported by clear communication and a six-month transition period for verified producers.
Looking ahead, this postponement strengthens the value of the SRP Standard. Version 3.0 will not only enhance sustainability in rice production, but will also equip producers worldwide with the tools and guidance to demonstrate progress, respond to market needs, and contribute meaningfully to global climate and food security goals. Additionally, it will contribute meaningfully to global climate objectives, addressing both mitigation and adaptation and support efforts to ensure food security.
