Webinar Recap: Scaling the Low-Carbon Assurance Module (L-CAM) from India to Vietnam

Date: 24 November 2025
Time: 3:00 PM – 4:00 PM ICT (GMT+7)
Venue: Online (MS Teams Webinar)

We are pleased to share the successful conclusion of SRP’s webinar on the Low-Carbon Assurance Module (L-CAM), an important milestone in strengthening climate accountability across the rice sector. The session received 186 registrations and brought together 60 active participants from across the globe — a strong indicator of the growing interest in credible, transparent Scope 3 reporting in rice value chains.

This achievement reflects the commitment and collaboration of producers, buyers, auditors, researchers, and partners working together toward low-carbon rice transformation. Thank you to everyone who joined us and contributed to the discussion.

About the Webinar

SRP hosted this webinar to present key insights from the pilot implementation of L-CAM in India, supported through a grant from the ISEAL Innovations Fund, with funding from the Swiss State Secretariat for Economic Affairs (SECO) and UK International Development.

After a successful pilot phase, the session highlighted lessons learned, practical challenges, and opportunities as SRP prepares to expand L-CAM to Vietnam.

Key Takeaways

  • First, strong MRV is non-negotiable. The India pilot showed that investments in training, digital tools, and quality control significantly improve credibility and trust in reported results.
  • Second, context matters. Emission reduction potential is not uniform — it varies by region, baseline practices, and farming systems. This tells us that a one-size-fits-all model won’t work. Local calibration is essential.
  • Third, farmer engagement is critical. Adoption doesn’t happen just because protocols exist. It happens when farmers see clear value, receive accessible support, and feel recognized — which drove high participation in India.
  • Finally, combining data with technology is how we scale. Integrating field-level information with remote sensing and digital platforms unlocks cost-effective verification across thousands of farms.

Your engagement and thoughtful questions helped enrich the discussion and move the conversation forward.
