Call for Member of the SRP Technical Committee
We extend an invitation to SRP members to nominate a dedicated and committed individual to participate as a member of the SRP Technical Committee. Working on a pro bono basis, Committee Members play a crucial role in shaping SRP’s key normative documents and scientific positions, as an integral contribution to SRP’s mission to transform the global rice sector towards a healthy, inclusive, and sustainable future.
About the SRP Technical Committee:
Reporting to the SRP Board, the SRP Technical Committee provides scientific and technical guidance on the management and revision of the SRP Standard and Performance Indicators, the Assurance Scheme, position papers and other related normative documents. It is therefore central to ensuring the highest levels of scientific and technical excellence in SRP’s undertakings. Additionally, the Committee oversees the SRP Authorized Training Program and the development of digital farmer support tools.

Qualifications:
We are seeking candidates with the following profile and skillsets:
- Affiliation with a current SRP member (required)
- Proven expertise and experience in carbon markets, MRV, climate change or related field
- Demonstrated commitment to SRP’s mission
- Commitment to dedicate time and effort to the Committee’s work (meetings will be held a minimum of four times per year, with additional meetings and document review assignments as required).
Nomination Process:
Any SRP member representative is encouraged to send their nominations (self-nominations are permitted) to info@sustainablerice.org by 10 June 2024, attaching the following documents:
- Letter of nomination from an SRP member, OR
- A compelling statement of interest (no more than 500 words) outlining your relevant experience, eligibility and motivation for joining the Committee.
Technical Committee Member Replacement Procedure:
- Call for Nominations: SRP Secretariat announces a call for Technical Committee member nominations from SRP members, specifying the area of expertise and required specialism.
- Submission of Nominations: SRP members submit nominations (self-nominations are accepted). Nominees must be affiliated with SRP members.
- Review of Nominations: SRP Secretariat and SRP Technical Committee review all nominations and submits shortlisted candidates to the SRP Board.
- Board Voting and Approval: The SRP Board reviews shortlist and votes to appoint the new Technical Committee member. The Board may delegate this authority to the Executive Director.
