SRP’s New Member — A Warm Welcome to Highland Dragon Long An Rice Mill Plant (HDELA)
The Sustainable Rice Platform (SRP) is pleased to welcome Highland Dragon-Long An Rice Mill Plant (HDELA) as a new member of the SRP community, marking a shared commitment to advancing sustainable rice production and strengthening collaboration across the global rice sector.
HDELA’s main business is retailing rice to markets in the USA, EU, and Australia, with most of its customers being supermarkets that carry high responsibility for product quality and full commitment to product traceability from farm to table. HDELA grows its own paddy through contract farms spanning over 1,000 hectares with several farmer families in Vietnam’s Mekong Delta, working closely with farmers to help them achieve a good harvest that meets the quality regulations of importing countries bringing a sustainable business model for farmers in the area.
As a rice miller working directly with contract farmers across the Mekong Delta, HDELA’s involvement reflects a growing recognition of the role that traceability and farmer partnership play in driving genuine progress toward sustainability. The company serves as a bridge between Vietnamese rice farmers and SRP, introducing rice producers to a global sustainable channel that brings benefit for all participants aligning closely with SRP’s mission to strengthen farmer partnerships, traceability, and sustainable livelihoods across the rice value chain.
By joining SRP
HDELA becomes part of a global multi-stakeholder platform that brings together private sector actors, governments, research institutions, civil society organizations, and development partners working collectively to promote sustainable rice cultivation practices and improve sustainability outcomes across rice value chains.
SRP looks forward to working closely with HDELA to further strengthen sustainability efforts across the rice sector and accelerate progress toward more sustainable and resilient rice value chains globally.

Through this collaboration, SRP aims to strengthen farmer partnerships and traceability across the rice value chain, promote knowledge sharing and capacity building, and foster meaningful engagement among stakeholders. By bringing together expertise from milling and export operations, farmer networks, and other stakeholders, the partnership is expected to contribute to improved transparency, stronger traceability systems, and greater long-term sustainability and competitiveness of the global rice sector.
