SRP Holds Meeting with Arctic Carbon to Explore Collaboration

Bangkok, Thailand — 22 March 2026

The Sustainable Rice Platform (SRP) recently held a meeting with representatives from Arctic Carbon to exchange perspectives and explore potential collaboration in the sustainable rice sector.

The session was led by Ms. Kanlak Waritwaranont, Managing Director of Sustainable Rice Services, and Mr. Tun Boonyakongrat from the Communications and Membership Unit, together with Ms. Tarida Dalai from the SRP Standard Assurance Service, who joined the discussion via online conference. They met with Mr. Kanthaphol Suraponpichaisakul, Director of Strategy & Operations, and Tiyot A- Sampinsub, Business Operations and Analytic Manager from the Arctic Carbon team.

Both parties identified a shared direction in supporting Thailand’s rice sector, with a particular emphasis on strengthening the role and livelihoods of Thai farmers through sustainable practices. Arctic Carbon engaged with SRP to gain a deeper understanding of the SRP verification process and how it supports measurable outcomes in sustainable rice farming.

“Our commitment is to improve farmer’s livelihoods, through sustainable practice. And we are actively seeking collaborations with multiple sectors—from exporters to producers, as well as internationally recognized organizations like SRP,” said a representative of Arctic Carbon.”

Ms. Kanlak Waritwaranont, Managing Director of Sustainable Rice Services, emphasized the strategic value of the meeting, stating:
“Our goal is to drive lasting impact across the rice value chain.” By integrating innovative solutions with SRP standards, we can scale sustainability for both the environment and farmer livelihoods.”

Joining the discussion via online conference, Ms. Tarida Dalai from the SRP Standard Assurance Service highlighted that the meeting provided a valuable opportunity to advance shared goals. She noted that SRP remains committed to fostering collaborations that bridge the gap between sustainability standards and practical field implementation.

Highlighting the importance of such engagements, Mr. Tun Boonyakongrat, SRP representative, noted:

“SRP views collaboration across both public and private sectors as essential, particularly when there is a shared goal of increasing agricultural productivity. We are therefore committed to promoting SRP adoption at both national and international levels.”

The meeting provided SRP with an opportunity to engage in in-depth discussions on the steps to achieve verification. It also served as a platform to explore future opportunities for Thai rice to advance toward export markets for sustainably produced rice.

Importantly, the meeting helped strengthen relationships among key stakeholders, including SRP as the standard owner, farmer groups, and exporters—fostering stronger collaboration across the value chain.
