Announcing the New Chair of the SRP Technical Committee
Bangkok, 14 January 2025 – The Sustainable Rice Platform (SRP) is pleased to welcome Russ Cullinane, Director of Business Development at CarbonFarm, as the newly elected Chair of the SRP Technical Committee (TC) for 2025. Russ’s extensive expertise in sustainability and climate focused initiatives will strengthen SRP’s mission to catalyze rice sector transformation through value chain action and multi-stakeholder partnerships, empowering rice smallholders and fostering sustainable, low-emission rice farming under the SRP Standard.
About Russ
With almost 30 years of international experience in sustainability and climate-focused initiatives, Russ’s specializes in rice carbon projects. He has led global initiatives to design and implement impactful climate solutions. His previous roles include eight years with South Pole, where he developed a global commercial agriculture strategy with an emphasis on methane reduction in rice projects, and various roles with international NGOs and as a consultant, developing and managing multi-stakeholder development programs.
About the SRP Technical Committee (TC)
The SRP Technical Committee provides expert scientific and technical guidance reporting to the SRP Board. The TC oversees the SRP Standard and Performance Indicators, the SRP Assurance Scheme, position papers, and other essential normative documents. Additionally, the Committee oversees the SRP Authorized Training Program and the development of digital tools to support farmers.
We are excited to work with Russ in this new role and are confident that his expertise will bring valuable insights and leadership to the SRP Technical Committee. We extend our congratulations to Russ on his appointment as Chair of the Technical Committee.
