Join the 2nd SRP Global Photo Contest!

The Sustainable Rice Platform (SRP) is delighted to announce the 2nd SRP Global Photo Contest! We invite SRP members and other sustainable rice enthusiasts from around the world to showcase their best photos of sustainable rice fields and farmers. This contest is a celebration of sustainable practices and the positive impact they have on food security, climate resilience, and the livelihoods of those involved in rice cultivation.

About the photo contest

The theme for this year’s contest is “Sustainable Rice: Food, Climate, and People.” We encourage participants to capture images that highlight the transformative impact of sustainable rice practices on the environment and communities. This is your chance to contribute to a global narrative of change and to show the world how sustainable rice farming is making a difference.

Winning photos will be showcased at the 3rd Global Sustainable Rice Conference and Exhibition, held at the United Nations Conference Centre in Bangkok, Thailand, in November 2024. In addition, the winning photos will also be featured on SRP’s website and across our social media channels.

How to participate

Capture Your Best Shot: We encourage you to photograph farmers working in the rice fields or any other aspect of sustainable rice farming.
Tell the Story: Adding a brief story or background about the photo will earn extra points during the selection process.
Submit Your Entry: Photos should be submitted via this link, including the photographer’s name and contact details.

Photo requirements:

Format: JPG/JPEG with high-quality compression (minimum 200dpi).
Landscape Orientation: Maximum width of 2560 pixels and height of 1440 pixels.
Portrait Orientation: Maximum height of 2560 pixels and width less than 1440 pixels.

Submission limits:

Non-SRP members may submit only one (1) photo.
SRP members may submit up to three (3) photos.

In case of multiple submissions, only the first submission(s) will be accepted. All photos must meet the guidelines (technical specifications and intellectual property rights) outlined above and in the competition brief.

Key Dates

Contest period: Mid-August to mid-September.
Submission Deadline: 12:00 CEST on 15 September 2024
Selection Process: 16 September – 29 September
Winner Announcement: 30 September
Photo Exhibition: 26- 27 November

Selection of Winners

All submitted photos will be subject to a pre-screening to ensure compliance with the contest guidelines outlined in the competition brief. Non-compliant submissions will be rejected.

Winner(s) will be contacted via the email address provided on submission and will be required to sign a statement of eligibility and liability/publicity release, provide a short bio (where applicable), and a brief statement about the submission. Winners and finalists may choose to use an alias instead of their real name and may request other identifying information be kept private. Inability to contact a potential winner may result in disqualification and/or selection of an alternate winner from among all remaining eligible submissions.
