About the Sustainable Rice Platform

The Sustainable Rice Platform e.V. (SRP) is a global multi‐stakeholder alliance comprising over 100 institutional members from the public, private, research, civil society and the financial sector.

SRP envisions a world in which rice farming is sustainable, resilient, low-emission, and contributes to the well-being of people and the environment. To achieve this, SRP catalyzes rice sector transformation through value chain action and multi-stakeholder partnerships, empowering smallholders by fostering wide-scale adoption of sustainable, low-emission rice farming practices under the SRP Standard for Sustainable Rice Cultivation.

In collaboration with its members and partners, SRP advances science-based standards, performance metrics, and tools to promote resource-use efficiency, climate resilience, and improved smallholder livelihoods. SRP also drives market transformation by creating incentives and outreach strategies that expand access to sustainably produced rice while reducing the social, environmental, and climate impacts of rice production.
