The Global Sustainable Rice Conference and Exhibition is returning this year!

Bangkok, 10 April 2024 — The Sustainable Rice Platform (SRP) is excited to pre-announce the upcoming 3rd Global Sustainable Rice Conference and Exhibition (SRP Conference), taking place on 26-27 November 2024 at the United Nations Conference Centre in Bangkok, Thailand.

Under the theme “Sustainable Rice: Food, Climate and People”, the conference will focus on the integral role of rice at the intersection of global debates on sustainable food systems and climate change.

In addition to the conference, there will be an exhibition space showcasing related initiatives, products, and service providers.

This event will be an excellent opportunity SRP members and partners to present and discuss their own initiatives to derisk their own value chains and catalyze broader change through collaboration. It also offers stakeholders a unique opportunity to share and discuss the latest innovations and approaches, facilitate collaboration, create new partnerships and foster knowledge exchange. Stay tuned for more details to follow.

About the Global Sustainable Rice Conference and Exhibition

The Global Sustainable Rice Conference and Exhibition (SRP Conference), launched in 2017, is a flagship event advocating for sustainable rice production. The first and second conferences attracted over 350 high-level delegates from more than 30 countries, fostering dialogue, showcasing achievements, and forging partnerships.  We are delighted to be able to resume this event in 2024 with full a two-day face-to-face program.

About the Sustainable Rice Platform

The Sustainable Rice Platform e.V. (SRP) is a global multi‐stakeholder alliance comprising over 100 institutional members from the public, private, research, civil society and the financial sector. SRP works with its members and partners towards transforming the global rice sector by improving smallholder livelihoods, reducing the social, environmental and climate footprint of rice production, and by offering the global rice market an assured supply of sustainably produced rice.

SRP promotes resource-use efficiency and climate change resilience in rice systems (both on-farm and throughout value chains) and pursues voluntary market transformation initiatives by developing sustainable production standards, indicators, incentive mechanisms, and outreach mechanisms to boost wide-scale adoption of climate-smart, sustainable best practices among small farmers.
