Join Thai Webinar: Upgrade Thai Rice Production to meet an international market

As sustainability expectations continue to reshape global agricultural markets, the rice sector is entering a new era where transparency, traceability, and credible sustainability practices are becoming essential. To support stakeholders in navigating this transition, the Sustainable Rice Platform (SRP) invites rice sector professionals across Thailand to join a free webinar exploring how SRP is helping build a more sustainable and resilient rice value chain.

SRP’s Growing Engagement in Thailand

The Sustainable Rice Platform (SRP) is a global multi-stakeholder alliance dedicated to transforming rice cultivation and strengthening sustainability throughout the rice value chain. Working with governments, businesses, research institutions, civil society, and farmers worldwide, SRP promotes internationally recognized standards and practical solutions that benefit both people and the environment.

In Thailand, SRP has recently strengthened its engagement through a series of discussions with the Thai Rice Exporters Association and key government agencies. These ongoing collaborations reflect a shared commitment to supporting Thailand’s position as a global leader in sustainable rice production and trade. This webinar represents another important milestone in expanding awareness and fostering collaboration among stakeholders across the country.

Join the Webinar

Participation is free of charge, and we warmly invite all stakeholders across Thailand’s rice value chain—including farmers, millers, exporters, traders, businesses, government agencies, researchers, and sustainability professionals—to join this informative session.

Mr. Tun Boonyakongrat will deliver a presentation titled “SRP Introduction and How It Benefits Rice Stakeholders,” offering participants a practical overview of SRP and demonstrating how membership creates value across the entire rice value chain—from farm to market.

Bringing together experience from government, agriculture, entrepreneurship, and international collaboration, Tun offers a unique perspective on sustainable development and stakeholder engagement.

Before joining SRP, Tun worked at a research center commissioned by the Thai Government to deliver the New Entrepreneurs Development Project, where he served as a bridge between government agencies, financial institutions, and businesses—including those in the agricultural sector. His responsibilities included financial analysis, risk assessment, and business plan evaluation for entrepreneurs ranging from start-ups to SMEs and larger enterprises across seven provinces in Thailand.

He also coordinated international engagement at Mahidol University, working with partner institutions across Asia and Europe. Having lived and studied in Japan, Tun brings firsthand international experience that complements his cross-cultural communication and collaboration skills.

At SRP, Tun now applies this multidisciplinary background to strengthen relationships across SRP’s global stakeholder network—from governments and development organizations to rice farmers, businesses, and sustainability partners—helping communicate the real-world impact of SRP adoption and supporting greater collaboration throughout the rice value chain.
