Call for Nominations: SRP Board Election

The Sustainable Rice Platform (SRP) is pleased to announce the opening of nominations for several seats on its Board. With several terms ending on 22 September, nominations are invited for the following positions:

• Civil Society Organizations: 1 position 

• Public Sector: 1 position 

• At Large (any constituency): 3 positions

About the SRP Board 

The Board guides SRP’s work to advance sustainability across the global rice sector, supporting environmental stewardship, farmer livelihoods, and supply chain innovation. Therefore, the Board seeks the following skills and competencies among nominees: Not-for-profit governance, finance and business models for voluntary standards initiatives, carbon finance, risk management, fundraising, climate action, agri-finance (e.g., green bonds, VCM, development funding), global engagement/advocacy in food systems, agdev, climate action or sustainable food systems, global stakeholder network, philanthropy, rice research/value chain knowledge, regulatory compliance (including the EU Green Deal, EUDR, GDPR and CSDDD).   

Key Dates 

• Nomination Period: 19 August – 6 September 2025 

• Election Period: 10 – 19 September 2025 

• Announcement of Results: 22 September 2025 

Nomination Requirements 

Please submit the following by 6 September 2025, 17:00 (UTC+7): 

1. Candidate Information: full name, organization, position, and contact details 

2. Supporting Documents: recent photograph; brief biography (max 300 words) highlighting relevant experience; and a statement of motivation 

3. Endorsement: confirmation of willingness to serve; if nominated by another member, a letter of endorsement 

Optional: Candidates are welcome to include a short introductory video (up to 2 minutes) to share their motivation for serving on the SRP Board. 

Video guidelines: The video should be a maximum of 120 seconds in duration. Landscape orientation is generally preferred over portrait, and an HD file will display best. Please keep the maximum file size to 50MB.

Election Process 

A secure online vote will be managed by an independent third party. Voting instructions and candidate profiles will be provided in advance. 

Eligibility 

• Candidates must be affiliated with an SRP member organization. 

• Nominating members must have maintained continuous membership for at least one year. 

• Each member may nominate one candidate at a time. 

Additional Notes 

SRP encourages nominations from women and individuals from the Global South. Experience with non-profit governance and fundraising is advantageous.
