It is with great enthusiasm that we introduce Dr. Nurmi Pangesti as the newest member of the Sustainable Rice Platform (SRP) Technical Committee.

Background and Expertise
Dr. Pangesti is a Scientist in the Entomology Group and the Country Representative at the International Rice Research Institute (IRRI). With over 15 years of experience, she has contributed to projects that focus on plant health, biodiversity, and sustainable, climate-smart pest management across multiple countries and cropping systems. Her work, published extensively in international scientific journals, reflects a deep commitment to advancing agricultural sustainability through research, education, and communication.

What distinguishes Dr. Pangesti is her genuine dedication to supporting farmers’ livelihoods by promoting pest management practices that are both sustainable and resilient to climate change. About the SRP Technical Committee:

Reporting to the SRP Board, the SRP Technical Committee provides scientific and technical guidance on the management and revision of the SRP Standard and Performance Indicators, the Assurance Scheme, position papers and other related normative documents. It is therefore central to ensuring the highest levels of scientific and technical excellence in SRP’s undertakings. Additionally, the Committee oversees the SRP Authorized Training Program and the development of digital farmer support tools.
