SRP Welcomes Professor from King Mongkut’s University of Technology North Bangkok (KMUTNB)

Exchanging Perspectives on Developing Student Skills for the Future of Career Path

Bangkok, Thailand — 12 March 2026

Mr. Tun Boonyakongrat, Acting Head of the Communications and Membership Unit at the Sustainable Rice Platform (SRP), welcomed Dr. Kaweewat Worasaen, a professor from the Faculty of Information and Production Technology Management at King Mongkut’s University of Technology North Bangkok, for a discussion on enhancing students’ capabilities to meet the evolving demands of the modern workforce.

The meeting aimed to provide a platform for dialogue between academia and an international organization, with a focus on gathering insights and experiences from the education sector. Discussions also explored ways to strengthen the development of essential skills that help students keep pace with the rapidly evolving world of work, while promoting positive workplace culture and openness to collaboration across diverse social and cultural backgrounds.

In any teaching and learning process, what truly matters is ensuring that students can work effectively with others and possess the fundamental knowledge required for real-world professional environments. More important than being an expert in a single field is having an open mind and the willingness to learn from others. This reflects SRP’s belief that people’s potential grows through teamwork, openness, and shared learning,” said Mr. Tun.

During the discussion, faculty members from the university engaged in an open exchange of views and inquired about the skills and professional experiences students would gain through internship opportunities with SRP. The internship program serves as an important mechanism for bridging classroom learning with real-world professional experience.

The professor commented “The opportunity for our students to work with SRP is truly valuable. What makes SRP particularly distinctive is providing students with opportunities to engage in real-world work, learn from practical situations, and build connections with organizations across the SRP membership network. These are internship experiences that are rarely available elsewhere.”

The meeting also marked an important step in opening dialogue on potential future collaboration between the SRP and King Mongkut’s University of Technology North Bangkok.

During the discussion, Mr. Tun introduced the idea of developing institutional cooperation, including the possibility of establishing a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to support the development of students’ professional skills through internship programs. The concept was positively received by both parties as an interesting and promising avenue for further development.

The discussion represents an important starting point that may lead to further consultation and study before formal collaboration in the near future.
