New Tools to Support SRP Producers and Producer Groups – Immediate Implementation
The Sustainable Rice Platform (SRP) is pleased to announce the launch of two essential tools aimed at assisting SRP producers and producer groups in addressing missed thresholds or non-conformities against SRP Standards. These tools are designed to streamline the process of identifying root causes and developing corrective action plans, ultimately ensuring compliance with SRP Standards.
- Guidelines for Identifying Root Cause Analysis and Developing Corrective Action Plan.:
- These guidelines provide comprehensive support for Verification Units (VUs) in conducting root cause analysis using the 5WHYs methodology.
- Including a short video tutorial on short video explaining the 5WHYs Root Cause Analysis effectively.
- SRP Root Cause Analysis and Corrective Action Plan Template:
- This official template is to be utilized by VUs when developing Corrective Action Plans.
- Completed templates should be submitted to the Conformity Assessment Body (CAB) as part of the plan and will serve as the foundation for verification.
- VUs are required to provide evidence demonstrating the closure of non-conformities or addressing missed thresholds, which will be reviewed by the CAB to determine the sufficiency of the Corrective Action Plan.

Note
In addition, we kindly request all members to refer to the Assurance Scheme V2.0, particularly page 52, for the Audit Report and Responses Schedule. Notably, for immediate auditable non-conformities, CABs will verify evidence submitted by the producer or producer group within 14 calendar days. Similarly, for only-seasonally-auditable non-conformities, verification will occur as soon as possible during the subsequent season or next audit.
These tools signify our commitment to supporting our members in upholding SRP Standards and ensuring sustainable and responsible production practices.
